Sometimes part of your mind starts asking questions that, in all likelihood, no one else in the history of the universe has ever asked. Namely, what would happen if the Eridian students tagged along to Earth and enrolled in grad school. Then you look up a few months later when, oops, you have a document with six fanfics and 40k words.

This may have gotten a bit out of hand.

Featuring: Mark doing astrophage DIY on Mars, text messages with the Hail Mary, Ryland explaining how to choose a PhD advisor, Rocky holding an AMA, Eva's niece as a history professor, and Mindy being fluent in Eridian.

Notes:

Nothing important in here relies on being familiar with The Martian, largely because I wrote with such a friend in mind. All you'd miss are some jokes. I've also been told by a beta reader that this series works without knowing what happens in Project Hail Mary, though that was unintentional. I'm pulling specifically from the book versions of both.

No LLMs used; I haven't so much as opened up ChatGPT or similar since I started writing.
