Summary
— Isabel! That was unacceptable! What were you trying to achieve with that? You shouldn't have acted that way. It almost derailed the entire negotiation! If you had said one more word to the Americans, they would have…—
— If you're angry at them and not at me, then I don't see the point in listening to this, Alma. Say it to them. — Isabel leans over the Ymbryne. She puts her hands behind her back, and a rare, smug smile plays on her face. Alma's eyes widen at the insolence of the woman standing before her, and for a few seconds she can't even find an answer.
— Excuse me?
— You heard it all correctly, Alma. Go yell at them.

Summary
Once her heart had stopped sinking somewhere down into her stomach at every smile from Isabel, Alma began to notice something she had not noticed before.
Suits clearly were well for Isabel.
It had taken disgustingly long to notice. And yes, it was true. Alma liked it when she was dressed in something that loosely resembled a mix of French military uniforms from the Great War, men's suits, suffragette attire, and elements from very Greek myths from which Isabel herself seemed to have emerged.

Summary
—Well, and you two?— Alma is slow to realise that the question is addressed to none other than herself, together with Isabel. The girl looks up at the source of the voice, and Isabel moves her fork away from her lips.
—Who else could it be, if not Alma!— the table-mate says, and Alma is all the more flustered. She had not heard the question. Or rather, she had completely missed it, too caught up in Miss Avocet's expressions. —Yes, Alma?
—I beg your pardon? Sorry, I didn't catch that.
—Will you be my Dilecta?

Summary
Alma tilts her head slightly, trying to imagine what could have made Isabel warn her in this way. Isabel was and, apparently, always would be an eccentric. Caring, but eccentric, who loved to surprise everyone, including Alma herself.
— I'll try.
And Isabel lifts her shirt, or rather, pulls it over her head and manages to get stuck with her head and pull it off with visible effort. She's left in just a bra, which she unhooks from the back. Alma watches this, struck by lightning.
