Summary
The two watch in horrified silence as this stranger punches his big brother across the jaw, sending him careening to the floor. He stays there, unmoving, for an agonizing, excruciating moment. Then this– this fucker drags Ry onto his knees and lances his fingers into his scalp, tugging him by the hair so that he has a good look at his face.
When he shoves Ryland’s head into the water basin, Colt starts seeing red.
He thinks about the last text Ry sent him. He thinks about the three dropped calls from last night. He thinks about someone hurting his brother—his brother—and suddenly he can’t breathe.

Summary
Ryland should’ve died in that basement. In that car. On that table. He should be dead. Seemingly, his body must agree with him, if the way it’s punishing him for continuing to breathe is any indication. And a part of him…jeez, you know what? Yes. A part of him wishes he did. It would’ve been awful for his family to have to go through that, but at least they wouldn’t be saddled with all of this.
