leanor.” The woman on the bed said. Her hair was long and strawberry blond, her face serious. She looked familiar but not at the same time.
“Who are you?” Ellie asked, her feet firmly planted in the doorway.
“Of course… you don’t remember me. The last time we met I was a schoolgirl and you were a very small, very sick infant. I am Eva Stratt. Your mother, Elisa, was my much older sister. This is my protege, Ava Kaplan.” The woman on her stool nodded in Ellie’s direction. Ellie noticed that one of her eyes was milky white and that side of her face was taken over by a large scar.

Summary
Ryland got in line and looked at the menu. Then he let his eyes wander down to the pastry case. Everything looked delicious. A young woman slid out an empty tray and replaced it with a fresh tray of apple fritters. Ryland’s mind was instantly made up.
The couple in front of him moved out of the way and it was now his turn to order,
“Hey, what can I get for you?” The man at the register asked.
Oh he was definitely coming back here. That apple fritter could be hard as a rock and the coffee cold as ice and Ryland would be back here for the absolute hunk behind the register.
