Tony shrugs. “We’ve got some work to do on the Tower before it’ll be fully restored,” he remarks, picking up a stuffed grape leaf.
“But we’ve got some suites free now, and I think most of them escaped too much damage, so the rest of you are welcome to stay there during the renovation…” he looks around the table, “…even if Point Break here has to return his evil stepbro to their magic outer space fortress.”
At this, Clint snorts out a laugh, Bruce snickers, and even Nat’s lips curl up in a smile. Thor’s smile is sunny; he clearly doesn’t get the reference.
And honestly, neither does Steve. There are just so many fucking references to get. He still feels so out of place in this new century, so bewildered by everything. He missed a lot while he was in the ice, cold and sleeping for almost 70 years.
So many changes, so many events, so many cultural milestones.
There’s someone he misses most of all in the twenty-first century, but he’s not about to say anything about that right now.

“Bucky?” Steve says, staring at the face of the man in black standing in his bedroom.
“Who the hell is Bucky?” queries the man, frowning, his eyes cloudy.
“Sergeant James Buchanan Barnes, veteran of the 107th Infantry Division and the Howling Commandos during World War II, was born on March 10, 1917…” Jarvis answers from above. He sounds like a Wikipedia entry.
The man’s frown deepens and his flesh hand reaches for a Sig Sauer in his thigh holster. One of his thigh holsters.
