Summary
At 35, Ilya's life could not be going worse frankly. His best friend is asking for a divorce, he has a boring job and his boring co worker pities him enough to invite him to spend a few weeks with him and his family on their annual vacation to their summer cottage. And he's so pathetically lonely he accepts.
At 22, Shane has his whole life ahead of him. He's the captain of his university's hockey team, he's suspected to be the first draft pick in the MLH and he's able to maintain a 4.0 GPA on top of all that. His lack of a social life doesn't really bother him, he'll have time to date once he's achieved his life long dream. He's sure a girl will come along eventually.
OR Ilya is Shane's dad's hot co worker who ends up at the cottage one summer.

Summary
A year and a half into their relationship, Shane's life with Ilya could not be better. He's officially a professional hockey player for his favorite team, he'd building a life with his boyfriend and his parents are still his biggest supporters. But going from his university team to the MLH is harder than Shane expected it to be. There's a lot more eyes on him, and he's away from Ilya more than he'd like. This next chapter of his life was supposed to be the best one yet, so why does Shane feel like it's harder than ever?
On paper Ilya's life is perfect. He's got an incredible boyfriend, a beautiful condo they share, and a decent paying job that doesn't want to make him claw his eyes out. But he left nearly everyone he knew to move to Montreal to be with Shane, and he's not even home half the time now that hockey season has started. He knows how bad life can be, he's lived a much worse life, so why now, when he has everything he's ever wanted, does he feel so empty inside?
