Summary
It was official. Shane had lost his mind for real. Maybe they’d never made it to the cottage. Maybe they’d gotten into a fatal accident on the road and his synapses were firing random images in his last moments because he literally could not think of a more logical explanation for there being two Ilyas in his fucking kitchen right now, what the fuck?
He looked at the Ilya holding him. Then the one on the stairs. It was the same gorgeous face, the same stunned expression, the same body.
Different clothes.
They were wearing different clothes. Ilya had been wearing shorts this morning, Shane remembered gripping his bare thigh in the car, and watching him walk up the stairs in them.
Shane felt sick to his stomach. He pushed the stranger who was touching him away and took a couple steps back, needing space to process this.
The stranger’s face fell. “Sweetheart,” he pleaded.
“Yeah?” came another voice from behind Shane. Shane turned around slowly to see… himself. Walking in through the back doors.
OR
Shane and Ilya go to the cottage and find it already occupied. By versions of themselves from some other reality (spooky!). Then they have sex with them.

“I don’t like the lights off when I sleep. I don’t like them off ever.”
Hollander bit his lip. “I’m sorry. I didn’t realize. I turned them off after you fell asleep.”
“Is fine. I never told you.” Ilya grabbed Hollander’s hand to bring him to the edge of the bed.
They sat side by side, hands still clutched together.
Before he could even think about what he was doing, the words tumbled inelegantly out of his mouth. “I am a shadow wielder.”
OR
Ilya is a shadow wielder who is terrified of the dark. Enter Shane Hollander who is both Ilya’s perfect equal and his perfect opposite.

Summary
“So you are a vodka fan.”
Shane narrowed his eyes. “Only when I mix it with something that completely masks the flavor. I actually think straight vodka is disgusting. It tastes like gasoline.”
“Hm,” Ilya hummed, sliding his glass in front of Shane. “Maybe you have just never tried the good stuff. From Russia.” He leaned over to whisper in Shane’s ear. “Do you want a taste?”
“No thanks,” Shane said, turning his head away to get some distance. “I’m actually waiting for someone.”
“Who?” Ilya asked, though it sounded more like a demand than a question.
Shane smirked. “My husband.” He looked Ilya up and down slowly. “And he’s the jealous type so you should be careful.”
OR
Shane meets a hot stranger at the bar.
