He hated him at first, of course he did, it would have to be like that. Snarky comments artfully hidden behind a wing, sarcastic mutterings whenever the shorter Hylian had something to say. Of course those were signs of hatred.
Link couldn’t say when that changed, was it when he could find it in himself to chuckle at said comments? Or was it when the Rito was told to help him shoot a bow. Link couldn’t say.

Link thought that the way Revali would stand up , if only a little, whenever he complimented him on the slightest thing was precious. It was hard to spot at first, the way his posture would portray more pride than Link thought was physically possible, but what caught his attention was the glint in those emerald eyes, and the way his features who just light up.
Link cursed himself for not telling Revali sooner.

Link turned around, to look at Revali, but sadly it was harder said than done, as Link fell on his rear end, slipping on the wet ground. He simply groaned and Revali chuckled again, choosing to sit beside Link.
“I’m surprised that you’re sitting on the ground. Is it not too dirty for you?” Link eyed the Rito who shook his head.
“It isn’t exactly up to my standards, but I assume that you'd prefer that I stay here,” he paused and then started again, “for moral support. Goddess knows you need it.”
