Summary
“She looked weightless up there, like she was floating on the stage, staying suspended in the air too long for jumps and turning effortlessly on the ground, as if gravity wasn’t doing its best to slow her down. She was gorgeous, all her movements lithe and connected, perfectly flowing into one another, so that it seemed like she never stopped moving. Stiles had never been interested in ballet at all, but hell if he wasn’t interested in Lydia Martin— he could watch her do this all day.”
Or, Lydia Martin is a ballerina slash genius, and Stiles doesn't think he's ever met anyone so incredible in his life.

Summary
“Is there a point to this tangent?” Lydia asked, flipping the omelets. Stiles shook his head, his nose brushing her cheek.
“No,” he said, his chin still on her shoulder. “Just that I’ve loved you since that day, I think.”
Now she rolled her eyes, laughing in amusement. “First of all, that is so untrue,” she said. “No way you’ve been in love with me since that day. You didn’t even know me.”
“Yeah, but I knew enough,” Stiles insisted. “I knew that I’d never met anyone else like you before. I started falling in love with you that day.”
She laughed again. “Okay, that’s more fair.” She paused. “Any reason you’re being especially nostalgic and sappy today?”
He shrugged, hugging her tighter. “I don’t know. I guess it’s just what today is. It’s not going to be just us two for much longer.”
Lydia laughed at him again. “You are so dramatic,” she told him, but she turned her head, kissing him on the cheek. “And I love you.”

Summary
“Lydia,” he sighed, pulling her into his chest, wrapping his arms around her and holding her tight, wishing all her worries and fears would stop taunting her and just let her be at peace for once in her goddamned life. “You can’t dance forever,” he told her, kissing the crown of her head, her forehead buried into the crook of his neck. Her arms tightened around him, and he could feel the dampness of her tears on his shoulder through his shirt.
“I know,” she whispered, so quiet that he wouldn’t have heard it if he couldn’t feel the words reverberating off of his skin. “But I can try.

Summary
“I’m going to ask Lydia to marry me.”
The second the words were out of his mouth, Stiles realized that this was probably, definitely not a conversation they should be having at one in the morning. But they were both happy, a little too drunk on champagne, and they were at Scott’s wedding. It had made him think, all day. Seeing Allison walk down the aisle, hearing Scott and Allison’s vows, giving his best man speech and embarrassing both of his friends, dancing all night with their friends and family— he had realized how much he wanted every single part of this with Lydia. The elaborate party and everything that came afterwards, for the rest of their lives.

Summary
“Why can’t we go cake tasting again?” Stiles asked, eyes trained on the ceiling. Lydia laughed, shifting so her hand rested on his chest, right above his sternum, her hand pillowing her chin.
“Because we already picked out a cake,” she told him, smiling affectionately.
“Yeah, but the other bakeries don’t have to know that, Lyds,” he said, as if this were obvious. “You are squandering our chance to have literally unlimited free cake.”
“I still need to fit in my wedding dress, you know,” she said, a smile playing at her lips. Stiles scoffed, hands resting over her lower back, warm and heavy.
“You burn like a billion calories a day in dance. You’re probably fine.”
