Summary
“You ready for this?” Stiles asked, arm wrapped around her shoulders, holding her close and shielding her from the cold breeze blowing through the park. Lydia nodded, smiling despite the wintery weather. Boston Common looked beautiful, lights strung through the trees twinkling festively, but she couldn’t tear her eyes away from Stiles’s soft grin.
“I think the question that should be asked is if you’re ready for this,” Lydia responded, grinning up at her boyfriend. “We both know I can ice skate.”
Stiles glanced at the Frog Pond in front of them, hordes of people skating around in lazy laps. “I can skate,” he assured her. “Not as good as you, but I’m better than Scott.”
Lydia laughed, flashing back to that double date Allison had forced her on sophomore year with the very person now standing next to her. “I think a newborn calf could skate better than Scott.”

Summary
Sometimes, Lydia thought she might actually kill Stiles.
“You are not wearing that sweater,” Lydia told him, expression stern. Stiles, however, was looking at her in mock outrage, clearly offended she was opposed to his choice in clothing.
In her defense, she had already laid out a sweater for him, and it was definitely not the one he was currently wearing. It was like he was trying to stress her out even more on purpose.
“Why not?” Stiles said, looking at her with his big brown eyes in an attempt to act oh-so-innocent.
“There is a Millennium Falcon on it, for starters,” Lydia said, smoothing down her dark green dress.
“I know,” Stiles told her, as Finn ran by his feet, barking excitedly at something. “That’s why it’s awesome.”

Summary
Arching an eyebrow, Lydia surveyed the group of carolers in front of her, unsure if they were kidding or not. They seemed genuine, though, their grins never wavering.
“What the hell is a Stiles?” she asked, crossing her arms.

Summary
Lydia hadn’t initially realized how expensive having friends was.
That made it sound like she hadn’t had friends before. Which, she guessed, she hadn’t really. Not like she did now. But last year, there hadn’t been anyone in her life that she felt particularly motivated to buy Christmas presents for.
Since then, she’d been branded the town lunatic, had lost contact with pretty much everyone she had been friends with back then, and acquired supernatural abilities that still scared her beyond reason. But she’d also gotten something else out of that deal— friends. Real, honest to god friends. And Scott, Stiles, Isaac, Kira, Allison— they might just be worth everything else.

Summary
In retrospect, Stiles wasn’t exactly sure how they had ever thought this vacation was going to be peaceful.
Twenty years ago, sure. He and Lydia and Scott and Kira had done this easily. Renting a cabin in the mountains at a ski resort and relaxing while taking in the beauty of nature and attempting to ski (for Stiles, anyways) was a piece of cake right out of college. They’d packed bags and loaded up the car and that was it. Spending the days skiing, taking in the breathtaking views from the tops of the mountains, relaxing in the jacuzzi at the cabin afterwards— it had been a welcome retreat after the stress of four years of university, and they’d had an awesome weekend away before their first Christmas as graduates.
Maybe that was why they had all jumped at the idea of going to that ski resort again, almost twenty years later. But a lot had changed since then— most notably the fact that between the two couples, they now had seven children. And they never made things easy.

Summary
“Stiles,” Lydia said, and he could sense the apprehension in her voice. “I really don’t think it’s going to fit.”
“It has to fit,” Stiles insisted, squinting at the doorway. “I measured.”
“Yeah,” his girlfriend said, shooting him a doubtful look. “You measured the ceiling. Not the doorway.”
“Lydia, we are getting this Christmas tree in the apartment, so help me god.”

Summary
“We need to do something about Stiles and Lydia,” Malia said, crossing her arms over her chest. “Ever since we got her out of Eichen, the smell of their lovesickness has been even worse. It’s annoying.”
“I know,” Scott said, giving her a look. “But we can’t just tell them they’re in love with each other because we can smell it. That’s an invasion of privacy.” Malia rolled her eyes, as if Scott’s moral code bored her.
“Well, we have to do something,” Malia insisted. “Something to make them realize they’re in love with each other. The scent around them is nauseating.”
“What do you want to do?” Scott asked, unsure what Malia wanted him to say. She pulled a face, resting her hands on her hips.
“Lock them in a room together and don’t let them out until they talk about their feelings.”
“We are not doing that.”

Summary
“I know this was totally not our initial Christmas plan,” Stiles said, eyes locked on hers. “Which, in all honesty, makes perfect sense, because if there is one thing we all collectively suck at, it is plans.” He paused, grinning at Lydia, who was trying not to laugh. “But this is nice. Really nice. Having everyone here for the holiday.”
“Yeah, it is,” Lydia agreed, pressing a kiss against his jaw. “I love having the whole pack here. It’s like family.”

Summary
“I’m going to ask Lydia to marry me.”
The second the words were out of his mouth, Stiles realized that this was probably, definitely not a conversation they should be having at one in the morning. But they were both happy, a little too drunk on champagne, and they were at Scott’s wedding. It had made him think, all day. Seeing Allison walk down the aisle, hearing Scott and Allison’s vows, giving his best man speech and embarrassing both of his friends, dancing all night with their friends and family— he had realized how much he wanted every single part of this with Lydia. The elaborate party and everything that came afterwards, for the rest of their lives.

Summary
The house was an absolute mess.
Allison guessed she should have expected that— this did happen every year. These parties had started back in high school as lowkey hangouts in Scott’s basement with cheap alcohol and way too many Christmas movies, and had slowly, over the course of many years, morphed into what the pack now dubbed the “Super Festive Cheer Filled Annual McCall-Argent Holiday Party Extravaganza.” (Allison was about eighty percent sure Stiles had come up with the name while he was very drunk on said cheap alcohol. She didn’t know how on earth he had remembered it for the next year.)

Summary
“You’re really lucky I love you,” his wife said, walking into their living room in said Star Wars pajamas, holding two steaming mugs of hot chocolate. Stiles took one from her as she sat next to him on the couch, tucking her feet up under her.
“Come on,” Stiles responded. “These pajamas are awesome.” Lydia just shook her head, smiling in that subtle, affectionate way that still, after ten years, made his heart flutter a little.
They were awesome, for the record. They had Darth Vader on them and everything.

Summary
Stiles felt like he’d spent about eighty percent of this day sleeping.
If there was anything being a father had taught him in the past three and a half months, it was to take advantage of literally every single second that someone else was taking care of his infant daughter by sleeping for as long as physically possible. He’d thought, going into this, that the lack of sleep wouldn’t bother him— he’d spent practically the entirety of junior and senior year of high school sleeping as little as physically possible, still terrified of nightmares of the nogitsune, endless cycles of dreams where he never knew what was real. And college had been four straight years of all-nighters, with all the work for his course load. Lydia had reminded him, right before the baby was born, that he wasn’t twenty one anymore, and that they were both going to be sleep deprived for the foreseeable future. Stiles had shrugged her concerns off, assuring her he’d be fine. Definitely tired, but he’d make it work.
Then his daughter was born, and he realized exactly how wrong he had been.
