Nathan dies quietly, and the first to find him isn’t human.
Abaddon doesn’t understand what’s happened—only that Nathan won’t wake, that the medicine betrayed him, that the air has gone still in a way that feels wrong.“You are too still,” he says under his breath. “Even for you.
The words carry no grief — only confusion, like a scholar staring at an impossible equation. He studies the man’s face: the faint violet tint on his lips, the color drained from his skin, the eyelids heavy but unmoving.
“This medicine… you used it wrong,” Abaddon continues, his tone quiet, thoughtful. “It made you sick instead of whole.”

“Abaddon..” Nathan approaches slowly . “What’s goin’ on with you man?” He quickly picks up on the fact that Abaddon looks more than ambivalent. He looks scared.
Nathan’s approach comes to a halt when only Abaddon's head is left peeking from the vent.
“Who are you, and what business do you have with Nathan’s face?”

Summary
In a place such as the Undervale Hotel, those that call the sprawling halls and enchanted rooms their place of rest were never quite truly at rest.
That being said, there was a time, a span of a scant few hours between midnight and the witching hour in which a hush fell over the building. Suddenly, all was quiet, all was still… Peaceful even. The restless spirits lulled into a sort of calm that allowed the hotel's proprietors a chance to get some much needed, human rest.

Left to his own devices while the Freeling family sleeps, Abaddon finds himself contemplating what this human family means to him, and whether or not he should kill Ben for moving his candy to the fridge.

Abaddon was... if not happy, then as close as these people get to happiness. Abaddon kept control of the body and didn't let the boy take control. It was easy to manipulate him, but when a new ghost enters the house, things start to change for the worse for Abaddon.
