The meeting had been going well. Zed was shaking the hand of one of the representatives and wrapping up when the sunny day outside suddenly flashed a bright, blinding white. They all raised a hand immediately, shielding their eyes just as a jarring BOOM sounded. They hardly had any time to process the assault of light and sound before the ground shook.
Everyone grabbed onto something and tried to keep their balance. Zed looked around the room, making sure everyone was alright. Coach, Mrs. Wells, the Mountain College Reps, and Principal Lee all looked confused and terrified. Mr. Wells, while also confused and a little afraid, kept his bearings more. Keeping his balance with one hand on the table, he pulled out a radio with the other.
“Deputy, what on earth is happening?"
Or, a disaster strikes Seabrook, and everyone must learn to trust and survive together.
