One of the annoying things about your ex-boyfriend being used as a puppet by the Lich is that you’re stuck thinking about him more than you’d like. When he was alive, she could lean against the sandstone, the wind caressing her hair like he used to, and she could think that if he ever got his act together, it would never be too late for him to come back to her side. She would let him, she knew. His name was still at the top of her list, and when Golb landed in Ooo, the sight that flashed before her when she thought she was going to die was his face and she hates it.
It's not really about Billy. It's about what Billy represents. Billy doesn't get to tell stories anymore. Billy's dead. Canyon's over it.
