It was nearly a year ago since he was captured by the scientist that looked at him from above like the gods they thought they were and brought to this lab. He ran a maze every single day, dodging rats and traps. If he failed-

Technoblade was smart. A lot of borrowers weren't and perhaps that was why there weren't many of them left. Techno hadn't seen another like him in almost a decade. His parents were long gone. He did well on his own. And he would like to keep it that way.
So when humans decided to move into his house, he was pissed.
OR: Technoblade is a borrower and the rest of SBI are the humans moving into the abandoned house he calls a home. Family somehow is the end result of this.

Most borrowers were terrified of humans. Most borrowers did everything they could to stay out of sight. Most borrowers didn’t have a pet rat they could use to make a quick getaway.
Techno wasn’t most borrowers.
Oh, he wasn’t out to befriend the humans or anything, but it was hilarious when they happened to catch sight of him, then tried (and failed) to convince the humans around them of the existence of ‘tiny people’ in their house.
OR
Techno knows that being out in the open while humans are around isn’t exactly safe, but safety is boring, and if there’s one thing Techno hates, it’s being bored.

Phil is a retired pilot living in a fairly cheap apartment building with mice in the walls. Or so he hears, he's never really had a problem with them. He's looking forward to his son coming to visit, but he isn't expecting much of a change to the routine he's settled into.
When Techno makes a mistake, both of them are in for a rude awakening.
