What if I told you, they just didn't show everything that really happened? The story of Lucy and David didn't end as bad as it looked like. It is a love story after all. And love is the strongest thing in the universe. Someone wise once said: Everything will be okay in the end. If it's not okay, it's not the end.
See? That means that Episode 10 cannot be the final episode of the show. The creators had just forgotten about producing the real final episode. So, I helped them out in doing so.

In the year 2076, following the death of her mother, a young punk kid deals with the death of her only remaining parent in the only way she knows how; going to the nearest ripper doc and chippin’ some new chrome to hopefully kickstart her career as an edgerunner.
As it would soon turn out, another young punk kid is already there planning to do the exact same thing following the death of his mother.
Perhaps the two of them can work something out.
LiS / Cyberpunk Edgerunners crossover because I thought about it and then couldn’t stop thinking about it.

I couldn't bear to see Lucy sorta "fade away" after the ending of the show, so I gave her an appropriately badass sendoff without contradicting canon. Additionally, this little fic features a great excuse as to why Adam Smasher is such a little bitch ingame. This is one of my first attempts at writing anything resembling an "emotional" piece, and therefore I am not responsible for any cringe.

Summary
An alternate ending to Cyberpunk: Edgerunners
Major Spoilers ahead!
David Martinez did not die in his final confrontation against Adam Smasher. In a hot headed move, Lucy and Falco returned for him after Smasher left and got him the treatment he needed. Now, living a new life with Lucy, in a new city, the two must struggled against the lingering effects of Cyberpsychosis, all while living in hiding with all new identities.
The first chapter deals with the events directly after Lucy and Falco fled from the Smasher battle. The second chapter marks the beginning of David and Lucy's new life away from Night City.
The story will mostly deal with David's struggle against cyberpsychosis in a lore friendly way. To those that don't know, cyberpsychosis is actually a treatable mental disorder, but neither the anime or game go into much detail about this. -

At first it was Lucy's suggestion. That's what she said—but Falco, Kiwi, and Rebecca were often hounding David so much that he knew they were all in on it to some extent.
David was aware about Lucy being in touch with the team; rather just Kiwi and sometimes Rebecca although she could be a little too much at times (and she claimed that wasn't true even though everyone called bullshit on that. She was a billion firecrackers in one) and David was rather irritated about their constant comments on his visits to Doc for his implants.
He didn't need a shrink.
After the incident at the lab, the team collectively decides David needs therapy before he makes himself self-destruct.
