007 thought for a moment before nodding. It had been a while since he’d done this. He adorned himself with a playful smile, chuckling.
“What kind of song? You want me to go full metal? How about some sea shanties, ey? Or some baby lullabies?”
c00lkidd giggles, shaking his head.
“No, that’s silly! You know what song i want.”
“You’re right, i do. I’m just messing with ya, kid.”

He fell back, realising Elliot was long gone as he hit the floor. Good, he got out safely.
As for himself, he was bleeding, badly. He felt weak, horrifically so as he let himself remain laying against the cold floor.
There was no point in trying to run anymore, after all. He wasn’t going to survive this.
If he was going to die like this anyways, he could atleast help Elliot, and get one final moment with his son.
Every time he had been able to see the killer since he was brought here, he had tried to get through to him atleast once. To talk to his baby boy again. He was scared, incredibly so, but just wanted once more moment.
He froze, hearing a familiar voice sing a broken string of words.
“Let’s go in the garden..-“
He forced himself to sit up a little, wincing in pain, as he continued the song, smiling slightly.
“You’ll..- find something waiting…”
The words were struggled out, as he reached a hand out. c00lkidd took it, sitting next to his father, watching in a confused manner as he was dragged into a hug. Why was dad crying?
“Right there..- where you left it, laying upside down.”
c00lkidd hugged his father back, head tilted. They were just playing together like normal, why was Dad this upset?
7n7 paused, taking a few shaky breaths, before c00lkidd continued the song again.
“When you finally find it, you’ll see how it’s faded.”
He stopped singing, cursing slightly at another sharp pain that coursed through his body.
The hug got weaker on 7’s end, vision going fuzzy and black at the edges. He’d die soon and he knew it.
He barely had the energy to move, or speak, taking another sharp breath before leaning in close to c00lkidds shoulder, whispering quietly.
“Missed you, kiddo..- be good, okay?”
c00lkidd watched with the same curiosity as 007n7 went completely limp. His breathing faded out, stopping. And suddenly, his father felt very cold in his arms.
Papa fell asleep again. He does this every time they play.
He set his father down, bringing his knees to his chest.
“Everything stays, right where you left it. Everything stays, but it still changes. Ever so slightly, daily and nightly.
In little ways, but everything stays.”He stared at his father, as if expecting him to wake up. He stared, the timer ticking down quietly as survivors questioned why they hadn’t seen the killer for the rest of the round.
He stayed there until the end, watching as 7’s body disappeared from view. Watching, before being teleported back to the killers camp, standing with a distant look in his eye.
He stood there for a minute, before walking off, humming a familiar tune again, tail wagging behind him

The oasis that beckons to embrace him in a balance of warmth and cold was never such a thing. Because there’s never been any warmth in the water of the quicksand, only the cold of the desert night.
1x1x1x1 stands before him, holding the bottle of water and packets of food, inviting him back in, away from the approaching rain, to the shelter he knows will keep him warm and satisfied, yet merely temporary, cause he knows he’ll be thrown aside once again, yet remain entangled in the longing to feel loved.
After all, there's never been light at the end of the tunnel, no real hope that he’ll find their happy ending together, because the sun never rose - his drying heart sees through a looking glass.

I won't give him the opportunity, to cut me open and crush my fragile body under his boots, to cherish in my fear as he raises his hand against me. I’ll die in starvation and thirst - in my endless suffering -, run with my heart bleeding and sputtering, screaming and wailing, cold and frozen, if it means he won’t get his happy ending.
