How could this have happened?
First, your car quits working on you during the worst rainstorm of your life while going home from a long trip. Then, you go into a hotel to find some shelter or help, only to discover that you have just entered the domain of something truly wicked and not of the world you once knew.
You just wanted a place to wait out the torrential downpour, and use a phone to contact a mechanic so they could help get your car up and running again.
Now you're lost in a seemingly endless hotel filled with bloodthirsty monsters that want nothing more than to eat you or kill you.You can only hold your raincoat as close to your body as possible while you dredge through these dangerous halls. Hoping to make it back to the outside world once again.

Whether helping to kill or save a human, the entities have always abided by a set of rules, even when none of them knew why they followed them. Only Guiding Light and the current wanderer were aware of the resets after death, but after causing a brief and mysterious event, word spreads among the Hotel of the wanderer who simply respawns after death. However, resurrection isn't the only thing that's changed.
While you make the best of the unique situation, the entities try figuring out how to deal with you.
