Mario is Missing and Hotel Wario are the two main stories (starring Luigi!) and the rest are bonus additions to the world and lore.
Each story in (recommended) chronological order:
1. Crocs and Robbers (A week before Mario is Missing and a great place to start!)
2. Mario is Missing
3. Mystery, Mushrooms, and Murder, Oh my! (Takes place some time before Hotel Wario.)
4. Shy Guy's World + Bowser Jr.'s Fury (Takes place during the events of Hotel Wario.)
5. Hotel Wario (Takes place one year after Mario is Missing)
6. Vivian's Vicarious Vacation (Takes place some months after Hotel Wario)
7. Grubby Gamble in the Glitz Pit (Prequel that takes place years before all of the events. The least connected of the stories. Not recommended to read this first.)- Words:

Summary
Toadette and Goombella, the mystery solving, head-bonking duo of New Donk City decide to go on a relaxing date to Excess Express Cuisine! At this train themed restaurant, these two will meet a cast of strange characters, weird foods, and confront their feelings for each other!
And if that's not enough, it looks like there's been a murder on top of it all.
It's up to them to solve this mystery!
(Takes place after Mario is Missing and before Hotel Wario.)
