Summary
Glinda takes tentative steps forward, nervous and yet also somehow…excited. It has been so long since she last saw her. She pushes open the doors and steps out into the morning air. Even with the sun shining down on her, the wind so high up makes her feel cold down to her bones.
“Elphaba Thropp, I know you’re out here,” Glinda releases the words into the air around her. She can feel eyes on her, but there is no Elphaba to greet her. She sighs defeatedly, “Just come in before the monkeys spot you.”
And then suddenly there she is. The sight of her takes Glinda’s breath away. Those horrendible posters do not do her likeness justice. (Her heart cries out. She has missed her over these five long years.)

Fiyero scoffed, backing up slightly. There’s a dangerous glint beneath his eyes, “Like you’re perfect, Elphaba. Please. You think you’re so high and mighty, but you were waiting for me to screw up, weren’t you? Just waiting for your chance.”
The accusation was so ridiculous that for a moment, even Glinda blinked in confusion.
“I waited,” Elphaba said, voice low, dangerous, “Because she loved you. And she deserved someone who would love her back properly. You had everything and you threw it away for what? A quick fuck?”
Then she sized him up, slow and deliberate, and somehow it looked like she was taller than him now. Elphaba had always been sharp edges and dangerous smiles, but now she was something heavier, something older, something inevitable.
“You should be thankful,” she said, voice low and slicing clean through the air between them, “That I didn’t steal her from you the first time you fucked up.” Her green eyes glittered like broken glass under the lights. “If anything, she should’ve been the one who cheated on you.”
