Kaveh loved a lot of things, he loved helping the orphan children, he loved the colour burgundy of wine, he loved his mother’s ghormeh sabzi, he loved painting at dawn, he loved the way tea mixed with the sugar cube on his mouth, he loved going window shopping, he loved his job.

Summary
Kaveh is preparing for his defense thesis, hoping this will be his last year at the Acadamiya so he can graduate and finally take on projects and spread his architectural ideas all over Sumeru. When he goes to the House of Daena in search for materials to study, he finds a new library assistant there and being the sociable man he is, he decides to get acquainted with him - it also didn't hurt that he was easy on the eyes.
But this conversation is the first of many and the start of a friendship that develops into more, though Kaveh wonders plenty of times what morbid curiosity is driving him to keep talking to a guy that seems to only insult him. -

Ten years ago Kaveh would have bought into the idea that opposites attract. Logically there is merit to it, when a negative charge end of a magnet interacts with a positive charged end of another magnet they stick together. But the authors must have never met their true opposite — their shadow self, the negative charge that meets their positive.
Kaveh has.
And in the purest of sense, when discussing the topic of magnets, yes opposites attract. However, in people?
Opposites only lead to opposition.

Kaveh was brought back to reality by Alhaitham, “And talking about spending money…are you ever going to pay your rent?” God, was his tone annoying. But there was something else there, the playful teasing that Kaveh had come to know by now.
Kaveh turned to face him, cupping his face with his hands, “I can pay right now” he said with a scowl on his face before moving forward to kiss him.
