To Essek, the battlefield at that moment, went silent. He could hear nothing but his own heart hammering in his chest, the screams, the chaos, all of it was blanketed in sweet nothingness. Essek watched as Caleb, kind and honest Caleb. Wonderful and brilliant Caleb, a wizard unlike Essek had ever known. Fell to the ground, unmoving.

This is concerning in a different way, but not so much that he can't deal with it, and the reassurance helps him relax back into his position in the snow. “What is it they keep calling you? ‘Molly’?”
