In between newspaper clippings of vacations gone wrong and Robin Hood costume parties he finds the first. A slightly blurry picture of his mom holding him as a baby. He’d have been far too young to remember this but the picture makes his chest ache. His mother’s bright smile that he’s seen less and less as he’s grown older, that doesn’t appear dimmed by him’s tight grip on her hair. The last few years have been filled with so many arguments that he’s not sure when the last time he saw her bright smile directed at him like that was.Series
