Peach returns from her peaceful stroll around the Mushroom Kingdom to find absolutely everything in utter chaos. Her toads were running around like chickens with their heads cut off. They were screaming, but the screams were all different, as were their emotions. As she ran over, she heard some toads whooping with joy, screaming in anger and starting fights in the streets of which she had to step in between, some were yelling depressing things in a dark tone, and some were completely calm, shouting just because everyone else was but still continuing about their day in a disconnected way.

Summary
Mario, with help from Prince Chaithe the cloud prince, travels to the Ruined Kingdom to save Princess Peach from Bowser.
They battle Bowser and the moment he starts losing, he takes Peach with him. There was no telling where he'd go next so in a desperate last attempt to save his best friend, Chaithe manages to switch their places.
Prince Chaithe is now stuck with Bowser who finds out last minute that he doesn't have his princess but a prince instead.
