Summary
“What’s happening?” Grant asked, meeting Marco’s hand to lock their fingers together and squeeze in reassurance. Marco felt it did more to reassure Grant. “Where’s our son?”
Grant only glanced at the other people in the room long enough to see that they were there. All of them got his look of clear frustration, a frustration that was usually never clear. Though to them, Grant probably seemed like any worried parent, Marco was more concerned. Grant didn't wear his emotions on his sleeve often. This wasn’t just worried-Grant. Visibly-worried Grant was his husband close to having a complete breakdown.
“They lost him,” Marco said with an angry scoff.

On the other side, there were two men in sharp black suits and ties, sunglasses on their faces despite the late autumn season. They both had firm, serious expressions. Right away, Marco knew they were here for bad news.
Before getting a word out, they raised two wallets, which Marco quickly saw were actually badges—FBI.

Or, while Grant is out on a business trip, something bad happens to Link at school. Marco is already struggling to comfort him before the FBI show up, demanding answers from him and his fourteen-year-old son.
