A nurse was quickly called. Linus' eyes opened in an agonizing process that took far too long, blinking back into the world full of soft noises and bright lights. He tried to hide his head, but he was too weak and his breathing mask got in the way. When the nurse removed his mask and helped him sit up, he stayed quiet, his right hand fidgeting as if he still wanted to protect his skull.
Rusty tried for a smile. "Hey, Linus."
