Summary
Mhin shifted slightly, leaning their head against Arioch's shoulder. Arioch wrapped an arm around Mhin, offering silent comfort. It was like looking in a mirror. They were both broken in their own ways, yet so intimately and unbrearably similar—almost painfully so.
A lifetime of harsh experiences can make most people feel like they're broken beyond repair. For Mhin, they've learned to cope by keeping to themselves and accepting the cold world around them. But Arioch? Arioch had always been the one to reach out and offer a hand in the darkness. Arioch seemed to offer a glimmer of warmth and understanding that Mhin had never experienced before. And it hurt.
