Summary
There, right at the edge of the road and the sand, is something. It’s hunched up, back arched and feet spread wide, as if ready to pounce at a moment's notice. Another wail comes out of its mouth, teeth sharp and bared at them.
It almost looks like the plant she just kicked at Steve a moment ago; body rough and jagged, with thin spikes shooting out of its flesh. She could barely see its shape, skin blended so closely in color to the sand below, only its orange glowing eyes give them a solid view of the creature’s shape.
Another wail is let out. It’s unlike anything she’s ever seen. It’s monstrous, and probably poisonous, and definitely aggressive, and–
"Is that a cat?"

While stuck on the side of the road on their way to Las Vegas, Robin and Steve encounter a Cactus Cat.
