Winter means shopping for gifts, and for the past two years, it’s been a tradition for Aoyagi and Junta to do so together. Junta’s gift shopping experience improved ten-fold once Aoyagi became a part of it. Sure, it’s partially because of Junta’s massive crush on him. But it’s mostly because of Aoyagi’s superior gift-giving skills.

Aoyagi Hajime has always been dubbed as the 'gloomy kid' by everyone, ever since elementary school. Other people have never seen him smile, he rarely talks, and he always responds in a neutral, plain manner. This way of being is confusing to a lot of people, but to Aoyagi it makes perfect sense: if he doesn't care or have opinions, he can avoid conflict with those who don't agree with him, and keep himself from dealing with strong, difficult emotions. A defence mechanism which he has developed to do everything he possibly can to avoid getting hurt by things he cannot control. But upon moving to Tokyo to study art, his life takes a turn when he encounters a carefree, enthusiastic mathematics student from a neighbouring university. For the first time in a long while, Aoyagi can't help but experience something other than indifference… And due to what he's experienced in the past, that's proving to be a lot more terrifying and difficult for him than he could've ever anticipated.
