Summary
Something deep down in the digital world is broken. There is no world-threatening crisis, no demon lord on the verge of awakening to wage war on all that lives. Yet humans are being called across the gap, chosen for greatness and given Digimon partners to defend a world which needs no defenders.
The toll this exertion is costing the digital world is becoming a threat in its own right. One veteran tamer, with decades of experience walking the digital world, has taken it upon herself to try and fix the problem. But a lot of young tamers, enamored with their newfound freedom, don't want to be fixed.
At the same time, a girl who should not be in the digital world--who was not chosen at all--enjoys no freedom.
