So the Age of Burning Fields began while a dead hero lay entombed in the Shrine of Resurrection for a hundred years. Meanwhile, across time, previous Heroes are gathering. Something or someone had called them out of retirement.AKA: the events of Breath of the Wild but the Chain is there and Wild is 12

Wild had a sister. She survived the Calamity. She went missing two years after the Calamity. He knows these facts. It is not unreasonable to presume that she is, in fact, long dead. Lucky for him, a conversation with Legend gives him hope in being able to meet her once more.

Esme lost her big brother to the Calamity; an unthinkable tragedy that Rikkad would call irony. He has been dead for two years, and she has come to terms with it...until he shows up while she's trying to get to Lurelin with a group of eight other heroes.
Now there's a wrench in her plans and it looks like there's not a lot she can do about it.

It was long after they had settled into their bedrolls that Legend finally allowed his mind to stray once again. His eyes long adjusted to the inky darkness, he looked up at the familiar wooden beams of the ceiling and compared them to hers. They were so similar, it was almost like he was there with her. He could almost feel her breath on his neck as she held him close, hands so soft as they wrapped around his form.
...In which a walk on the beach turns Legend's mood sour.
