Summary
Wei Wuxian’s afterlife had been much longer than his actual life. Sometimes the memories of the past felt like figments of his imagination, an unclear nightmare that still haunted him. Family once meant his parents and the journeys they took him on, but now it meant his Ghost General, his little radishes and the many ghosts that populated the Burial Mounds. His purpose in life remained the same— to live without regrets.
But a fateful encounter with a heavenly official during an investigation leads him to something more sinister.
Maybe in another lifetime, where Wei Wuxian had still been alive, he'd have had Lan Wangji for a companion, for a zhījǐ, who, with time, would see him for who he truly was and travel with him, just like his parents had.
Clearly, this wasn't that lifetime.

“Shixiong has been visiting the nearby town quite frequently now,” Qi Qingqi interrupted as Shen Qingqiu prepared to get up. Her eyes twinkled with curiosity, her lips widening to form a wolfish grin, “It's almost as if one of the… workers has caught your eye.”
The comment was made as a joke at first glance, but Qi Qingqi was way smarter and observant than the rest of their martial siblings. She'd also passed by him last month when he'd been struggling to choose between hairpins, offering him her advice and opinions without a single comment. He'd been thankful, but now it was clear the incident was still fresh in her mind. She'd probably been investigating his visits to the town as a form of entertainment. He couldn't put it past her to do so as she found the fights between him and Liu Qingge amusing after all.
“What if someone did?” Shen Qingqiu replied, making Qi Qingqi’s eyes widen in delight.
“What— Shen Qingqiu—!” Liu Qingge’s yell echoed behind him but this time Shen Qingqiu had no time for it. He had a very pretty courtesan’s temper to quell.
Or, Shen Qingqiu tries his best to convince Courtesan Shen Yuan to be his atticwife, amongst other things.

Nie Huaisang is totally in an alternate dimension. Tomorrow Lan Wangji is going to tell him he finally told Wei Wuxian he loves him and that they are getting married in a week. Then, the pigs will start flying at their wedding and Jiang Cheng won't have that stick up his ass anymore. Yes, this was totally what would happen in an alternate dimension as ridiculous as this.
