He’s writing the letter but it doesn’t make sense. He’s writing the letter but he wants to go home. It’ll make sense then, he thinks—it’ll make sense when they both come home.

Nico è il migliore quando mette la maschera di Riki Marchesi: letale, beffardo e imbattibile. È il ragazzo prodigio della CIA che ha spodestato Viktor, l'ex miglior agente, condannandolo al ruolo di eterno secondo, oltre che di amico e rivale.
Ogni missione per lui è un gioco da ragazzi e così si prospetta anche quella nuova: eliminare una scienziata che ha tradito la CIA per una crisi di coscienza. Un normale martedì qualunque.
O forse no.
Le cose decisamente non vanno come previsto e Nico si ritrova braccato dalla CIA e da Viktor che è armato di una disperata caparbietà e intenzionato a dimostrare, finalmente, di essere il migliore. A qualunque costo.
O
Nico, il ragazzo prodigio della CIA, impara che non è così invincibile come crede. E Viktor non aspettava altro che vederlo sbagliare.

“Don’t die, Levi”, he says, clears his throat. Levi’s brows furrow. “Don’t waste your time trying to save people who are not worth saving. That’s an order”.
Levi looks into Erwin’s eyes, blue and clear and inscrutable. Erwin doesn’t flinch, doesn’t even blink. Suddenly Levi feels his chest expand and tighten with some incendiary, overwhelming fury.
“Worth saving”, he repeats. He keeps his gaze level. He thinks of Furlan and Isabel and feels bile rising in his throat. “Fuck you”.
When he turns this time Erwin doesn’t stop him, doesn’t move. Levi is on his horse before everyone else, patting its neck as it stomps its hooves on the ground, nervous. He watches as Erwin takes the lead right behind Shadis, watches as he tries to say something in his ear. Shadis ignores him, dripping in acrid sweat already. The smell of his panic is nauseating. Erwin does not seem panicked at all. He never does. He should be giving them orders instead of Shadis, Levi thinks, and immediately hates himself for it. Worth saving. He shouldn’t want Erwin to lead them. He shouldn’t want Erwin at all.
