Percy steadied himself under her weight. He had no idea who this girl was, but she clearly knew him. A part of him wanted to lean into the embrace and pull her closer to his chest. But he felt that if he didn’t let go of her, something very bad would happen. Neither of them was supposed to be here, everything about the interaction felt wrong.
But there was also something strange about their embrace. He knew where she would put her hands, rest her head, and he had felt his instincts take over as soon as their two bodies had made contact.
“It’s you?” he whispered tentatively into her hair.
“Well duh, Seaweed Brain.”

She’s silent, arms crossed over her chest and he takes it as a confirmation, “See you tonight, Chase.”
“You don’t even know what time I get off work!”
“And I don’t sleep anyway. Just show up whenever.”
He walks out before she can argue any further, her phone buzzing seconds later with his address. She knows she could ditch him easily, that she could make up some stupid excuse that keeps her from actually going, but instead she schedules an Uber to pick her up when her shift ends.
or, percy jackson needs a good grade and annabeth chase is suckered into being the one to help him.
