Summary
Piccolo fears the unknown. They fear the mere fact of not knowing what lay beyond what they can see. More than anything, they fear the dark. They fear the things happen in the dark that lay just beyond the light of what they can. But perhaps, with time, they can learn that its not really as frightening as it seems.
Or Piccolo experiences night for the first time as a child, then again while training for the Saiyan's arrival
