Summary
Charles was used to Max's predictability on the track, but he was completely unprepared for the fact that behind closed doors he himself would begin to look for something more than just physical intimacy.

Summary
"Max, we're brothers," Charles pressed his palms against his chest, trying to build at least some kind of boundary. "We have to stop."
Max caught his wrists, pinning them to the wall, and hovered so close his hot breath brushed Charles's lips.
"Brothers don't kiss until they bleed, Leclerc. And they definitely don't want each other the way we do right now."

Summary
Max picks up speed the closer he gets to the revolving door, nodding curtly at the doorman and trying to keep the hoodie out of obvious view, even though that’s insane too. He should’ve put it in a bag or something.
He isn’t going to run to Charles' apartment, he tells himself. Tells the ancient, instinctual thing in his head and low in his chest to fuck off. Running anywhere would be crazy.
Max makes it out of the building and into the fresh air. It’s sunny out, blue skies in every direction. Gorgeous and balmy, already just a touch too hot this early in the morning. No one around is going to be moving very quickly, prime running and jogging time already past.
He takes a deep breath and turns in the direction he needs to go. Walking. At an appropriate pace.
Charles sends back an okay with a thumbs up emoji.
He starts running.
*
Charles has spent the last 28 years highly sensitive to smell, usually to the detriment of his own well-being. Max’s presence—and scent—have always helped with that.
This is the year Max finally notices.

Summary
“What are you doing?” Pierre asked in English, finally snapping Charles out of whatever haze he was stuck in.
“Hm? Listening to you?” Charles looked up to meet his best friend’s eyes and immediately heard the thought that followed.
You were very clearly ogling Max just now.Charles’s eyes widened. “I did not!” he said, voice cracking as his ears turned red. Pierre only grinned wider.
Oh calamar, you think I haven’t noticed you staring at him since you got the superpowers.Or the one where Charles can read minds, and Max’s thoughts ruin everything (or fix everything).
