In another world Steven had shown it in defiance as he confessed and everyone would have just passed a glance at it before wanting to know how he’d killed a Diamond. In another world Blue was distracted by her grief, her desperation for answers clouding her vision.
In this world Blue Diamond, who had sat in a room filled with bubbled Rose Quartz gems for thousands of years and stared at them until Yellow Diamond arrived to drag her away, noticed something she should have seen before. The gem was too light to be a Rose Quartz. The gem was too clear. It shined too brightly, the light catching it perfectly.
But she remembered a gem similar, a gem that haunted her memories. She saw it when she cried. She knew that gem.

Summary
This is a COMPLETELY optional sister “fic” to "All This We Do in the Name of Ma'at". It’s not a story. It’s my Yu-Gi-Oh themed Egyptology notes. You don’t have to read them. In fact, I don't expect you to. I’ve spent a lot of time researching this thing, though, so I figured I may as well post them.
Just make sure you've read up to the most recent chapter of "All This We Do in the Name of Ma'at" before reading this unless you don't mind spoilers.
Also, since this has come up, feel free to use anything in here for your own fics if you'd like. I would be nothing less than honored to see my work used elsewhere. (Aka, please justify my hours of research :P )

You know how YuGiOh is a lot of card games with a little magic thrown into the mix? What if it was a lot of magic with only the occasional card game? That’s the idea we’re playing with here. No filler arcs. Minimal duels. Lots of character development, magic, and boys being cute as they save the world and maybe fall in love along the way. Literally no scene will play out as it did in the original show and we’re going to be deviating from the initial plot almost right out of the gate. The rare bits of content that do match the original narrative will be gone over as quickly as possible.
And while we're at it, let's fix the Egyptology, too.
