Summary
A soft prickle bloomed across her left arm. Not painful, never painful, but warm and insistent, like someone dragging a fingertip along her skin. She didn’t have to look. She already knew what it meant.
Her soulmate was writing on her again.
Catra dropped her bag onto the mattress with an annoyed thud, jaw clenching. Not today.
But the prickle kept moving, looping, curling. Despite herself, Catra glanced down.
hey! Im moving into college today!! hows your day going lol
The ink looked almost wet, dark against her skin, neat handwriting she’d come to recognize like an unwanted ringtone.
“Seriously?” she muttered.

But most importantly, there was a topless woman standing in the center of her room, wearing only tiny black boyshorts.
A very familiar topless woman.
Adora felt like an absolute idiot. She’d only spent hours arguing against that voice, taking notes and studying the types of positions she was prone to taking. Trying not to get lost in those hypnotic mismatched blue and gold eyes or that knowing smirk and stumble over her words.
“Catra?!” she said, trying and failing not to sound too surprised.
Catra laughed easily. “You know, literally three people hit on me last night by telling me how unique looking I was and you’ve forgotten who I am twice! It’s humbling, at least.”
Adora wakes up on Christmas with a hangover and a stranger. Well, not a stranger, really. Just her high school crush who she hasn't seen in forever. Eager to get more time with Catra, the two find themselves going on adventures around the city and maybe stumbling into a little Christmas magic.

“It’s about compromise,” Glimmer supplies, “seeing how well two conflicting people work together under difficult circumstances for an extended period of time. Adora goes to the gym everyday, Catra’s only form of workout is walking from her dorm to her classes, Adora wakes no later than eight in the morning, Catra got mad at me for waking her up,” she lifts her hands for air quotes, “‘in the middle of the night’ at eight in the morning—”
“Adora obviously wants to be friends, but Catra keeps pushing it off,” Entrapta adds in, and based off the way both Glimmer and Bow grimace, that wasn’t supposed to be mentioned.
“So what,” Adora starts, “you just… handcuffed us together in our sleep?”
(or, in which Glimmer handcuffs Adora and Catra together for twenty-four hours, Entrapta is a little shit, and Bow is an innocent bystander in the entire mess.)
