Summary
“Carlos, we need to talk. It’s not what you think,” Oscar said, his voice sounding more like an excuse than an explanation.
Carlos opened his eyes and stared at him, it was unbelievable. Maybe Oscar had hit his head sometime that night and he hadn’t noticed, because if things had been the other way around, Oscar would’ve been furious—at the very least.
He snorted, a dry, bitter laugh escaping him.
“Yeah, sure, cariño. I’m going to take a shower,” he said, voice dripping with sarcasm.

Summary
“It’s that video.”
Oscar blinked.
“The what?”
“The video” Carlos repeated. “That damn video.”
Oscar crossed his arms, confused.
“What video, Carlos?”
“The damn video, Oscar” Carlos grumbled, throwing the folded shirt aside and flopping onto the bed. “The one Lando posted on Thursday.”

Summary
Then he heard the door open. Footsteps coming closer.
A voice spoke from the other side of the bathroom door, but to Carlos it was only a distant echo—like someone speaking underwater. He didn’t even bother to make out the words.
Then the door opened slowly.
Carlos looked up, barely.
And there was Oscar.

“Come on, mi amor, we’ve got to be quick before Syd…” —Carlos barely got the words out.
Oscar didn’t let him finish. He grabbed Carlos’ face with both hands and kissed him like his life depended on it.
“Then stop wasting time,” he rasped, voice hot and low. “Shut up and kiss me.”

Summary
Carlos served the unknown customer with a considerably sour mood. When he handed it over, he forced himself to mutter a curt:
“Have a good day.”
With a forced smile, of course.
The guy took a sip of his coffee, hummed softly in approval, and, with a smirk that Carlos immediately deemed irritating, replied:
“Thanks, you too. Looks like you need it.”

Summary
“What did he say?” he asked, keeping his tone casual.
Carlos hesitated.
Too long.
Oscar felt the knot in his throat tighten when Carlos finally looked up.
“Oh, Cariño, Landito says we can join him and his friends at his villa. What do you think?”
Oscar looked at him and swallowed hard.
“Tell him yes.”

Summary
“You coming?”
Oscar wants to say yes. He swears he wants to say yes.
But his brain is… short-circuiting.
“In a minute,” he manages, though his voice is weaker than he expected.
Carlos chuckles softly, that deep, morning rasp that does things to Oscar’s insides.
“I’ll be waiting, mi amor,” he says before disappearing into the bathroom.
Oscar turns and shoves his face into the pillow with a muffled scream.

Summary
Carlos knew driving at over 250 km/h was dangerous, but he hadn’t truly grasped how terrifying it was until he saw it happen.
The thought that Oscar could be in that same situation at any moment made his stomach churn.
He didn’t say anything until that night, when they were alone in the hotel.
“It scares me to see you out there.”
Oscar cupped his cheek gently.
“Trust me,” he said. “I know what I’m doing. I’ll always try to come back to you.”

Summary
Oscar reached out and gently ran his fingers through Carlos’ hair before pressing a kiss to his forehead.
Carlos stirred slightly, mumbling something incoherent before opening his eyes.
Oscar smiled.
“Let’s go out for dinner.”
Carlos groaned, covering his face with one hand.
“But we already had dinner…”
“That doesn’t count. I want to take you somewhere nice.”
“Without a reservation at this hour? Good luck finding a table.”
“Being a Formula 1 driver has to be useful for something, right?”
Carlos rolled his eyes but smiled.

Summary
“Cariño, are you even listening to me?”
Carlos glanced at him briefly, a small pout on his lips.
Oscar felt the air leave his lungs.
He felt drugged. Maybe Carlos had slipped something into his drink. There was no way it was normal to feel like this—so hot, so desperate.
