Summary
Max Verstappen never forgets.
Max´s mind remembers every detail, every touch he once felt, every sound he heard, every painful and joyful moment. Sometimes… it helps him. But the majority of the time, it traps him, even the happy memories. All the emotions, the sensations, the weight of the past refuses to let him go.
As he navigates the chaos of Formula 1, his past is never that far behind. Max is always watching behind his shoulders because he doesn’t trust. He did once… not anymore…It broke him. But now, some memories want to make a comeback, but they aren’t supposed to be this vivid, this exhausting.
Maybe it’s the pressure. Maybe it’s the expectations. Or maybe it’s the ghosts of his past that keep call him.
His father’s pressure shaped him into the racing driver that he is today… But so did the quiet and peaceful comfort of the people that truly cared. Among childhood memories and present-day challenges, Max knows that the accomplishment isn’t just winning, it’s about showing the world he deserves to be there.
Even if, subconscious, he isn’t sure he believes it yet…
Because inside, he’s still the boy searching for something solid to hold onto after everyone let him down.Series

Summary
Max Verstappen’s childhood wasn’t exactly a secret. People knew about it from his ‘trauma dumping’ in interviews or when he used to walk around with long sleeves in summer to hide bruises.
So, yeah, most people ‘knew’ about it. What they do don’t know is how he passed out from pain when he was seven after his father punished him for coming second.
Or when his nose was broken after the ‘inchident’ with Charles.
And to be honest he was hoping to keep it that way. But obviously the universe didn’t agree.Bookmarked by ANI_DIE_LAMPE
