Bill Cipher has not been doing well in theraprism.

Bill is given one last chance: return to Gravity Falls to make amends with the Pines family and prove he can change or be permanently erased from the fabric of the universe.

FULL RAMBLES
I’m only 19 chapters in so far, but man oh man is this thing busting my kneecaps. The characterizations are really good, it’s funny, it’s angsty, and finally something’s properly labeled as a slow burn. Like I’ve read so many fics where the characters immediately get in a long, oblivious, mutual pining with each other, I started thinking my definition of “slow burn” was wrong. But here, Bill and Ford actually hate each other and author gets it, they know it’ll take 48 billion years for those two to reconcile, and I'm gonna be able to watch the entire process of their relationship developing as both parties (mostly Bill) improve, get more comfortable with each other, slowly fall back in love, and any internal and external conflict that’ll come with that. BRING THE POPCORN BOYS CUZ I'M WATCHING THE WHOLE ROLLER COASTER RIDE GO DOWN!! Also, Billy here actually doesn’t give a crap about being better, like oh my gosh, THAT’S MY BILLY NO WAY HE’S SO CLOSE TO CANON DUDE!! I’m fairly new to the Gravity Falls fandom but from what I’ve read so far, Bill gets toned down quite a bit, which isn't bad, it just doesn't feel like it’s Bill Cipher. But here, he’s the guy who drinks bone marrow and uses cane toads as lotion that I saw in the show, and that'll make his character development much more fun than if he was already a little less worse than usual. Also I need to talk about the relationship between the Pines family cuz THEY’RE SO CUUUUTE THEY’RE MAKING ME JEALOUS!! The grunkles care for the kids so much and want to be there for them and let them have fun, WAAAAAAA MY STONE COLD HEART!! And also, we get angst between the Stans?! How come I haven’t seen anything else with that? They’ve been separated from each other for almost 50 years, and a whole lot of that time was spent hating each other, like of course it wouldn’t take a year out at sea to get it all fixed! And the dynamic between the two, how Stan is more headstrong and protective while Ford is more logical, risk-taking, and self-reserved, how Stan wants to reconnect with Ford but Ford isn’t comfortable with talking about his past, there’s gonna be so much angst and I want to know what'll happen between them too! ALSO STAN HAS AMNESIA AND DIDN’T GET ALL HIS MEMORIES BACK, WHY HAVEN’T I SEEN ANYONE ELSE WRITE THIS??! Like his whole entire being was erased, not all of it was gonna come back from Mabel’s scrapbook. There was a good chunk of life spent without Ford and the Mystery Twins. Ooo, I gotta see how this’ll play out cuz its gotta lead to something. Maybe as Stan regains some of those bad memories, he’ll understand Ford’s perspective and why he doesn’t want to talk about what happened to himself. Or maybe Ford will learn that both of them have demons of their own and Ford won’t feel so isolated. Either way, MORE ANGST, WOOOOOOO!! Also MABEL, I LOVE MABEL! That triangle deserved getting his nuts crushed. And the swear jar, dude I gotta make one for myself. I very much appreciate her and everyone hating Bill on sight. From what I've read, Mabel always jumps at the opportunity to help Bill get better, and I get it, they’re both creatures of chaos and their relationship would be interesting to explore if Bill wasn’t… y’know… a sociopath. But I appreciate acknowledgement of the fact that Bill ABUSED AND RUINED THE LIVES OF MULTIPLE PEOPLE AND ALMOST KILLED EVERYONE AND DESTROYED THE WHOLE WORLD. Anyone who acknowledges it and tries to explore how it’ll affect others in their stories is BASED.
I have an itty bitty gripe though. Sometimes author uses big boy words and I don’t get why. For example: “clemency” instead of “mercy”, like mercy is already a great word, I don’t see why it needed to be clemency cuz to me, that word made the sentence flow a little weirder than if they used mercy instead. But look, I'm not even as good of a writer as the author, I don’t even know what I’m talking about so take this with a whole salt shaker.
I’m sure if I think harder, I’ll have more things I want to talk about, but I’m running out of characters and I’m pretty sure I’ve rambled on for long enough. I'll be honest, I’m gonna put this on hold and wait until there's more chapters, cuz I know I’m gonna end up forgetting stuff when life gets too busy. Also, waiting around for an update is gonna throw off my pacing of the storyline and I'm also gonna end up becoming co-dependent on the fic for my happiness, and I don't EVER want that to happen again. BUT I WILL BE BACK! THIS IS REALLY GOOD AND I CAN’T WAIT TO SEE HOW EVERYTHING TURNS OUT! I WISH YOU THE BEST OF LUCK, AUTHOR! -
