Summary
Sad reflections on the centuries that Dijun and Fengjiu spent apart after their failed wedding. Fengjiu has disappeared into the mortal realm, where she gives birth to their son, Gun Gun, and struggles to raise an immortal child in an environment that is ill-suited to his magical heritage. There are bittersweet moments as Fengjiu bonds with her precious child even as she lies to him about why they are fairies living as vagabonds in the mortal realm, suppressing their true nature and wandering from one home to the next. But for Dijun, there are only painful, empty days upon days upon days of loss without his beloved Xiao Bai. Alone with his regrets in the face of a crisis that may be his doom, Dijun withers to a shell of the revered Emperor.
Author's Note: Yep. This will be very sad and angsty before DJ and FJ eventually find their way to a happy ending. There are some episodes of the series that I avoid watching too often because I can't take it. Ep. 54 and 55, when our favorite couple are estranged, are high on the list. But Si Ming sent me this, so....
