Being a Knight was noble and honorable. They protected the people. The peak of every Knight's career was slaying a man-killing beast. Knights were praised for their heroics by the people, but light cast shadows.
Smii7y was used to living in the shadows. He had been in the dark his whole life because of the Knights. To him, the Knights weren't all that heroic. He meets someone who agrees with him.

"Hello racers. Can we talk about the weather for a second?" He asked.
"The weather? Why? That's like an icebreaker topic." She replied. They chuckled.
"Yes. I know. I'm just trying to get my head wrapped around the fact that we've had three hurricanes hit in two months. Maybe the entity that owns our universe really hates us." He replied.
"Or likes sports cars in the rain." She added, and they both laughed, "Next song is Back of My Mind by Alex LeMirage and Farley."
Kryoz turned off the radio. What was he going to do? They were gone for two months, and Trestle was falling apart. How was he going to save them? Things may have to go back to the way they were.
