"From what Nishimura could see, Natsume’s wings were an overall disaster. The feathers were in terrible condition as well, the tips of a few main flight feathers were frayed and jagged. It looked as if he’d flown through a tornado and escaped a fight with a bear. And they weren’t neatly folded like Nishimura had assumed at first. If he looked closely he could see them twitching just the slightest amount, almost like he was struggling to keep them completely still. Perhaps an attempt to not draw attention to them.
Nishimura grimaced and thought, ‘Yeah if my wings looked all beat up like that I wouldn’t want anyone looking at them either, geez that’s so embarrassing.’"
