    “Thank goodness,” Nick mutters as Ben stomps away. “Thought I’d never get rid of him.”

    His eyes go gentle again as he turns back to check on Charlie, who’s now crying harder than ever. “Hey, it’s okay. Think of it this way, you can move in with some of your mates now. Doesn’t that sound better than living with someone like him?”

    Charlie, if possible, only looks even more devastated, and simply cries harder at these words. A sinking feeling enters Nick’s stomach. “You…You do have friends you can stay with, don’t you?”

    His worst fears are confirmed when Charlie shakes his head, his tears coming down harder and faster. “I-I haven’t g-got a-anywhere,” he whimpers out in a way that makes Nick’s chest hurt.

    OR

    Charlie is forced to attend a rugby team uni party with abusive boyfriend, Ben, where he meets Nick Nelson, the rugby captain. Naturally, Ben fucks shit up and it’s up to Nick to pick up the pieces.
