A lie perhaps, but a well meant one. He'd not be happy to try to fix a mistake the knights had made. But Jean was not only the Acting Grandmaster but foremost a childhood friend. There were not many things left from his carefree past and the friendship with Jean was not something he was willing to let go.

Archons, nevermind, Diluc thought. Just because their pet turtles used to be playmates when they were young, didn't mean he'd have to help her with that.
