It took all his self-control to sit still as Vitek spoke about the finer points of archery. The whole time, his mind kept wandering about how he hadn’t eaten anything that day, how his hose was starting to ride up his groin, how Vitek seemed to light up when going over this archery business. He was fixating on the freckles scattered across his friend’s cheek and across his nose when Vitek suddenly turned to him.
“Ready to try it out?”
“Yep!”

“Hoy! Vitek!” Svatya called out, “Want to hit up the Wagoners’ Inn for some drinks?”
“I caaaaan’t,” Vitek dropped his head back with a dramatic groan, “Mother’s got me headed off to search for father. Maybe some other time, Svatya.”
Svatya frowned, his expression twisting in the way that suggested his mind was doing double the work it was accustomed to. Then, as suddenly as they had furrowed, his brows shot up as he hopped up on the bottom rung of the gate.
“How about I come with you, then?” Svatya asked, his smile wide and proud, “The two of us together, we should be able to find him twice as fast!”
“How would that work? If you come with me and not-” Vitek stopped himself. There was no point in arguing. “You know what, whatever. Come along!”
“Yes!” Svatya punched the air as he hopped off the fence, and together they ventured into the woods.

Henry only grunts, low and hungry, into the hollow of Hans’s throat. His teeth skim Hans’s neck one last time, and as hot breath ghosts across his kiss-damp skin, it sends a shiver down his arms, his body yearning for more.
