Summary
Yoongi hates kids, hates neighbors, and, frankly, hates people in general. So perhaps it’s Karma’s twisted sense of humor that places a child right on the other side of his door, especially a four-year-old who gets on his nerves with ease and, for some unfathomable reason, decides Yoongi is his best friend.
“Where the hell are your damn manners?” Yoongi snaps.
“What are damn manners?” the boy asks innocently.
“Something you clearly don’t have.”
Or, in other words: Seokjin’s 4 years old son escapes and hides inside Yoongi’s apartment, despite Yoongi having absolutely no idea who he is.

“Tell you what,” Yoongi starts. “If you’re still single in ten years, when you’re thirty…” he pauses, swallowing with an audible click. “I’ll marry you.”
“What?” Seokjin blinks.
“I promise that if you turn thirty and are still single, that I will marry you.” Yoongi repeats.
“It’s not even legal,” Seokjin protests, but it sounds weak even to his own ears.
Yoongi shrugs. “You never know what could happen in ten years. Maybe the government will get its head out of its ass.”

Yoongi makes a drunk, sad Seokjin a promise on his 20th birthday: If he's still single in ten years, Yoongi will marry him. It's a joke, obviously, so Seokjin agrees. They fall out of contact, as college roommates often do, but at 2 am on his 30th birthday, Seokjin gets a phone call.

Since the moment he'd been made crown prince, Min Sungki had been taught two things: 1) a country needed a strong leader with no weaknesses and 2) no one, not even family, was to be trusted. Now, he'd lived up to those expectations and then some, becoming a strong king, loved and feared in equal measure. He'd made his country stable, the palace efficient, and the council appropriately loyal. With his fiance, Prince Kim Seokjin, and his Royal Advisor, Kim Namjoon, at his side, he knew he'd be remembered as a great king—if his brother didn't destroy everything he'd worked so hard to build first.
Since the moment Sungki had been made crown prince, Min Yoongi had been taught two things: 1) he was not to be involved in anything related to the government or ruling the country and 2) he was not a backup prince but a threat to the royal family's stability and it was best to stay as far away from political things as possible. He wasn't useless though, he'd found that he could still help if he was careful, if he talked to the servants or worked around the power structure to offer comfort from the shadows. His brother hated it, and him to be honest, but Yoongi didn't mind. He just wanted to make sure his brother was okay.
