They all underestimated how responsible Stiles felt for the Nogitsune and what happened. No wonder he was afraid to go near the pack, not to mention the whole no control over magic thing. He felt Stiles huff out a breath at the part about Coach which was a good start.
Or after the Nogitsune, Stiles keeps secrets, there are new people in Beacon Hills, and the Pack has fallen apart. Stiles starts to figure out his role in the pack, piecing it back together, and trying to keep everyone safe.

Stiles is good at his job, and he’s pretty sure knew what he was doing.
Every single person he had helped pair up so far was happy and satisfied with his choices. No one ever called him back up after a meeting and told him that the person who they were seeing wasn’t compatible for them at all, and that there wasn’t at least some form of connection. In fact, the longest he had a client looking for their match was about a week before they declared: “this is the one.”
Stiles was proud to say that he could make people fall in love in only a matter of days.
But then again, none of those people are the ever-unsatisfied, seasoned client named Derek Hale, either.

Summary
He’s screwed him over so many times now, doing something unexpected, leaving Theo to scramble and keep up. It’s exhausting, really, and angers him to the point he’s almost slipped up a few times. It was why he’d shifted his focus in the first place, going to everyone else in the pack before he got anywhere near the one ever-so-important human member. The emissary. The voice that screams out above the rest and drags Scott’s trust and focus away from him.
It’s a very poignant sort of irony that the one thing Stiles didn’t screw up for him was something that hit so close to home.
