Or what if the Van Scene had gone a little different? And maybe Mike Wheeler is not completely oblivious... (POV Mike Wheeler during s4 ep8)

Summary
After Will took down the Demogorgons at the military base and they escaped, they needed some extra supplies, so Mike and Will snuck back to the Wheelers' house to grab whatever they could. In grabbing items from Mike's room, Will finds a box hidden in the back of his closet with so many pieces of paper with Mike's writing sprawled across them. They're all addressed to him.

Summary
In the fractured, post-earthquake landscape of Hawkins, Mike Wheeler is drowning in a silence of his own making. Living under the same roof as Will Byers should be easy, but the proximity is becoming a slow-burning fuse. Mike is "bad at feelings," a trait that has already cost him his relationship with El and is now threatening the only bond he has left.
When a rainy movie night spiraling into a heated confrontation leads to a desperate search through the woods, Mike is forced to confront the "monster" inside him—the defensive instinct that lashes out at the people he loves most. But as the lines between friendship and something deeper begin to blur, the stakes shift from survival to honesty. Navigating the pressures of small-town expectations, a hostile father, and the overwhelming weight of years of "just friends," Mike and Will must decide if they are willing to burn down the safety of their past to build a future they never thought possible.

Summary
"Does he love the mage? In the end?"
He can't open his eyes, he can't because if he has to look at Mike as he says yes he's going to - he might punch him. He might actually punch him. Why did he agree to this? Why did Mike have to come here and be beautiful and loving and make him think just for a moment all over again.
"You'll have to read it and find out?"
Excuse the fuck out of yourself Michael. What.
---
Mike finally starts getting his life together again just before they're all ready to leave after getting all of his feelings out into his writing and he goes to will for help in finishing it. Together they paint and write a new ending for the story whilst rediscovering themselves along the way.

Summary
It’s a chorus of confusion. Mike does not move. No one approaches him.
And Will barely reacts. That alone, in Mike’s opinion, is damning.
Mike holds tight to his gun, index finger on the trigger, and does not look away from Will’s face, not for a second. He does not explain himself, despite Hopper and Nancy and El and Mrs. Byers closing in on them, hovering as if a bomb was going to go off.
Instead, the edge of a growl emerging, Mike speaks only to the monster: “Get out of Will now.”

Summary
The party is watching Star Wars for the twenty-seventh time, and counting. Mike can't focus on the movie, because he's seen it so many times before. Not because Will is huddled under a blanket with him.
Or;
A movie night one-shot featuring popcorn, realizations, and lots of dim lamplight.
