It was then Malleus learned how Fae blood could be used as a connection. If you share your blood with the one you care for most, the magic within that blood can bind you in a unique and special way. If blood was exchanged between two Fae instead of being one-sided, it made that bond even stronger.
“But be careful, Malleus,” Malleficia warned. “Fae blood is a coveted, dangerous thing. Yours even more so, being who you are. Even a single drop of Draconia blood precious. Do not recklessly give it away.”

“Okay,” Vil concedes, taking the hand and letting Leona help him to his feet, “I don’t know why you seem to want to help, but don't disappoint me, Leona.”
Leona lets go of him as quickly as he’d taken hold, but he doesn’t move away. The same hand reaches up and cups Vil’s cheek. He almost flinches away in surprise, but Leona’s hand keeps him in place, his thumb tracing beneath his eye to wipe at a few rogue tears.
“Dress casually. No heels.” Leona turns away quickly, stuffing his hand into the pocket of his pants as the other waves over his shoulder. “Remember, you have ten minutes. Don’t keep me waiting, your highness.”
